Deck overview

This competitive Orzhov deck leverages explosive fast mana and tutors to assemble compact infinite combos, primarily Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Walking Ballista. Supported by Ad Nauseam, Necropotence, and Bolas's Citadel, the deck rapidly draws through its library to find its win conditions. Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel provides an additional card draw outlet whenever life is gained, while also threatening opponent life totals. Early turns focus on accelerating mana and establishing asymmetric stax pieces like Drannith Magistrate and Opposition Agent to slow opponents down. When ready to close the game, the deck deploys silence effects such as Grand Abolisher, Silence, or Ranger-Captain of Eos to protect its combo turn from disruption. Alternative win lines like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose with Exquisite Blood and the Citadel-Top-Reservoir loop give the deck strong resilience against targeted hate.
