Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Combat Aristocrats strategy commanded by Ares, God of War. Ares features a unique triggered ability that returns attacking creatures to their owner's hand whenever they die. The deck exploits this by utilizing high-power, low-mana temporary beaters such as Ball Lightning, Lightning Skelemental, Arc Runner, and Blistering Firecat. Because these creatures naturally sacrifice themselves or trade aggressively in combat, Ares continuously refills your hand with lethal attackers. The deck accelerates through treasure engines like Grim Hireling, Mahadi, Emporium Master, and Pitiless Plunderer while draining opponents via Blood Artist and Juri, Master of the Revue. To close out games, the deck leverages damage-scaling mana generators like Neheb, the Eternal and Rakdos, Lord of Riots, extra combat steps via Aggravated Assault and Full Throttle, or cheat engines like Sneak Attack. It delivers rapid, resilient, and evasive combat pressure.
