Deck overview

This deck is a thematic Grixis control and Superfriends build centered around Nicol Bolas, the Ravager // Nicol Bolas, the Arisen and various incarnations of Nicol Bolas. The strategy focuses on slowing down opposing game plans through targeted removal, asymmetric board wipes, and static stax pieces like Narset, Parter of Veils and Ashiok, Dream Render. Early turns establish mana acceleration using two-mana artifacts before deploying high-impact Bolas planeswalkers. Once established, the deck proliferates loyalty counters using cards like Deepglow Skate, Flux Channeler, and Inexorable Tide, rapidly unlocking game-winning ultimate abilities. Opponents are steadily stripped of cards in hand and permanents on board through repeatable discard and sacrifice triggers. Win conditions include planeswalker ultimates, token swarms from The Locust God and Amass mechanics, and large mana sinks such as Torment of Hailfire.
