Commander: Niv-Mizzet, Parun

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a low-to-the-ground Izzet spellslinger/combo deck built to exploit Niv-Mizzet, Parun's draw-ping engine. The primary plan is to land the uncounterable commander, then attach Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or pair Tandem Lookout to turn every card drawn into damage and every damage trigger into another draw, creating an infinite loop that kills the table. The deck packs a dense cantrip and selection package - Ponder, Preordain, Brainstorm, Frantic Search - plus ritual acceleration in Pyretic Ritual, Desperate Ritual, and Simian Spirit Guide to reach the six-mana commander ahead of curve. Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind acts as a second combo copy in the 99, while Harmonic Prodigy doubles Parun's triggered abilities, Underworld Breach provides a graveyard-value angle, and Baral, Chief of Compliance discounts the entire spell suite. The deck is best understood as a compact, counter-heavy combo deck that wants to control the stack while assembling one of several redundant draw-ping lines.
