Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black stax and attrition powerhouse commanded by Tergrid, God of Fright. The game plan revolves around accelerating mana early to deploy Tergrid alongside symmetrical discard and sacrifice effects. When cards like Dark Deal, Plaguecrafter, and Rottenmouth Viper resolve, Tergrid converts opposing discards and sacrifices into stolen permanents directly on your battlefield. This completely empties opposing hands and strips their boards while establishing an overwhelming resource lead. Supported by big mana lands like Cabal Coffers and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, the deck closes out games via stolen combat damage or a massive Torment of Hailfire. While vulnerable to well-timed creature removal on Tergrid before an edict resolves, the deck packs elite tutors, resilient recursion, and crushing stax engines to dominate multiplayer tables.
