Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black attrition and voltron strategy commanded by Vincent Valentine. The game plan focuses on forcing opponents to sacrifice creatures and discard cards using symmetric pox effects, edict creatures, and discard engines. When opposing creatures die, Vincent grows massive by collecting +1/+1 counters equal to their power. Upon attacking, Vincent transforms into Galian Beast, a trampling, lifelinking threat capable of eliminating opponents in single combat steps. The deck backs up this aggressive commander clock with oppressive resource denial engines like Oppression, Waste Not, and Tergrid, God of Fright, which steal or punish discarded resources while breaking symmetry. Backup win conditions include mass reanimation via Rise of the Dark Realms and direct life drain through Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Bloodchief Ascension.
