Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Rakdos midrange and burn strategy commanded by Smaug, Wicked Worm. It accelerates early through efficient Treasure generators like Curse of Opulence, Generous Plunderer, and Sol Ring to cast Smaug on Turn 4. Smaug converts opponents' artifact counts into immediate Treasure tokens and turns every subsequent spell cast with Treasure mana into card draw. This velocity fuels a critical midgame turn where artifact pingers such as Mirkwood Bats, Ingenious Artillerist, and Marionette Master combine with mass Treasure engines like Cavern-Hoard Dragon, Ancient Copper Dragon, and Blood Money. The deck applies rapid, table-wide life loss while maintaining full card advantage, pivoting between aerial dragon combat and lethal noncombat burn spells like Comet Storm and Earthquake. Backed by free interaction like Deflecting Swat and Deadly Rollick, the deck protects its board while systematically draining all three opponents.
