Mono Black Discard by Ponder

Format: Commander

Commander: Sheoldred, the Apocalypse

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

An attrition-focused mono-black Commander deck built around Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The opener uses cheap discard (Burglar Rat, Virus Beetle, Mind Rot) and flexible removal (Feed the Swarm, Hero's Downfall) to control the board, while Sheoldred converts drawing into life gain and punishes every opponent draw. Card advantage engines such as Phyrexian Arena, Waste Not, and Bandit's Talent keep the hand full. The decisive line is an infinite life-drain loop with Exquisite Blood and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, found with Liliana Vess, Rune-Scarred Demon, or Ad Nauseam. Alternately, a pile of ETB drain effects can grind through three life totals.
