Swampwalk Lifedrain by RinLoch

Format: Commander

Commander: Sol'kanar the Swamp King

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a classic "Swamps Matter" control/burn deck helmed by Sol'kanar the Swamp King. The primary strategy revolves around converting all lands into Swamps using Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and land-auras like Blanket of Night, then leveraging extreme mana multipliers such as Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Nirkana Revenant to generate massive amounts of black mana. This mana is dumped into powerful X-spells like Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate to drain the entire table in a single turn. Secondary wins come from an army of evasive Swampwalk creatures suited up with Lashwrithe, and value loops involving Kokusho, the Evening Star and Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Sol'kanar himself provides a resilient 5/5 beater and incidental life gain, supporting the deck's heavy reliance on life as a resource for Ad Nauseam and various pay-life costs. The blue and red mana are almost exclusively used to cast the commander and a handful of splash cards (Wrexial, the Risen Deep, Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker).
