Deck overview

This deck is a 5-color Changeling and Scarecrow tribal control deck helmed by Reaper King. The central strategy revolves around accelerating mana to cast the commander on Turn 4 or 5, followed by triggering its devastating permanent-destruction ability repeatedly through cheap Changelings, blink spells, and token copiers. By utilizing the Changeling mechanic, every low-cost Shapeshifter counts as a Scarecrow, turning cards like Universal Automaton, Changeling Outcast, and Masked Vandal into one-mana Vindicate spells. The deck locks opponents out of the game by destroying key lands, mana rocks, and commanders before finishing with wide combat attacks powered by Mirror Entity, Patchwork Banner, or a kicked Rite of Replication. Backed by comprehensive artifact protection such as Padeem, Consul of Innovation and instant-speed defensive spells like Heroic Intervention and Teferi's Protection, the deck establishes sustained asymmetric attrition while steadily advancing toward victory.
