Hallar EDH

Format: Commander

Commander: Hallar, the Firefletcher

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Helmed by Hallar, the Firefletcher, this is a Gruul kicked-spell deck that turns a single kicker theme into table-wide damage. Every kicked spell puts a +1/+1 counter on Hallar and then pings each opponent for Hallar's counter count, so the game plan is to chain cheap kicked spells while multiplying Hallar with counter doublers like Solidarity of Heroes, Invigorating Surge, and Hydra's Growth. The deck can close via Hallar's own trigger, Chandra's Ignition once Hallar is huge, trample combat backed by Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar, or the poison one-shot offered by Grafted Exoskeleton. Mana engines such as Kami of Whispered Hopes and Selvala, Heart of the Wilds keep multiple spells per turn possible. It is a linear, commander-centric midrange deck: explosive when Hallar sticks, but fragile to removal and short on ways to find its finishing pieces.
