Deck overview

This deck is a highly tuned Izzet spellslinger-combo list helmed by Niv-Mizzet, Parun. The primary game plan is to assemble the classic infinite damage loop: pair Niv-Mizzet, Parun with a Curiosity effect (Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Tandem Lookout), then any card draw trigger deals infinite damage to the table. The deck is built around a dense core of instant/sorcery spells that trigger Niv's second ability, generating card advantage and fueling the combo. Secondary win conditions include pinging via Guttersnipe and Coruscation Mage, massive value from Thousand-Year Storm, and an alternative combo with Mind Over Matter plus Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind. The deck leverages a robust counterspell suite, free interaction, and a low average mana value to control the game while digging for its combo pieces.
