Azorius prison by user6875696

Format: Commander

Commander: Grand Arbiter Augustin IV

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Grand Arbiter Augustin IV leads a UW prison-control deck whose primary plan is to stack spell and attack taxes, then win with Approach of the Second Sun. The commander is the mana-discount engine and the centerpiece tax, but the plan does not hinge on him: redundant tax pieces (Thorn of Amethyst, Damping Sphere, Ghostly Prison, Propaganda) keep the table locked even if he dies. Secondary paths are Azor's Elocutors' five-turn clock and, if assembled, a Hullbreaker Horror/Tidespout Tyrant loop around Sol Ring to bounce all permanents and enable a final Approach. There is no hidden commander; the double-faced cards in the 99 (Cosima/Omenkeel, Reidane/Valkmira) are utility.
