Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul Midrange Aggro build helmed by Chishiro, the Shattered Blade, focusing entirely on the modified mechanic. The strategy deploys early acceleration via land search and mana rocks to cast Chishiro on Turn 3. On subsequent turns, resolving Auras, Equipment, and +1/+1 counter engines triggers Chishiro to generate 2/2 red Spirit creature tokens with menace and distribute +1/+1 counters to all modified creatures every end step. The deck scales its board rapidly, converting wide token presence into lethal combat pressure through trample enablers like Garruk's Uprising, unblockable triggers from Champion of Lambholt, and extra combat phases from Akki Battle Squad. While resilient against single-target removal due to Umbra armor and protection spells like Silkguard, the deck relies primarily on natural draws and fair combat damage over two to three attack cycles to close the game.
