Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper alongside a dense package of large creatures and power-matters engines. Early turns focus on establishing mana acceleration through pieces like Sol Ring, Birds of Paradise, and Fanatic of Rhonas. By turn 4, the deck deploys sustained draw engines such as Garruk's Uprising and Elemental Bond, using them to chain high-toughness and high-power beaters into play. Ikra Shidiqi converts combat damage from these massive creatures into immense life totals, creating a comfortable buffer while attacking. The deck transitions into a lethal threat around turn 6 with monsters like Ghalta, Primal Hunger, Apex Altisaur, and Primeval Protector, closing out the game with trample enablers or Preposterous Proportions by turn 8. While vulnerable to sweepers and lacking stack interaction, its high card velocity and resilient threat density provide steady mid-game momentum.
