Deck overview

This Abzan deck uses Anafenza, the Foremost as both an early aggressive beater and a persistent graveyard hate piece in the command zone. The primary strategy develops early mana acceleration and counter enhancers such as Hardened Scales, Winding Constrictor, and The Ozolith, rapidly building formidable board presence by Turn 4. On Turn 5, high-impact multipliers such as Kalonian Hydra, Cathars' Crusade, or Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite apply overwhelming table-wide combat pressure to close the game by Turn 7. The deck features format-ceiling interaction and protection suites, utilizing free pitch elementals, universal spot removal, Teferi's Protection, and Grand Abolisher to force its game plan through opposing disruption. In addition to combat beatdown, the deck includes a secondary persist sacrifice loop with Kitchen Finks, Metallic Mimic, and sacrifice outlets to drain life or build an arbitrarily large attacker.
