Merfolk Around & Find Out by steviepopo

Format: Commander

Commander: Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a focused Simic Merfolk tribal deck helmed by Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca, built to generate overwhelming card advantage and board presence by tapping Merfolk for value. The primary game plan is to establish a wide board of Merfolk, use Kumena's abilities to draw cards and pump the team, then close the game via unblockable combat damage-either through islandwalk (Master of the Pearl Trident, Merfolk Sovereign) or through Herald of Secret Streams making all +1/+1 counter creatures unblockable. Alternate win conditions include Simic Ascendancy (growth counters) and mass bounce spells like Raise the Palisade that reset opponents while leaving your Merfolk untouched. The deck relies on a high density of lords, token generation (Deeproot Waters, Deeproot Pilgrimage), and efficient card draw engines (Kindred Discovery, Bident of Thassa) to outvalue opponents over time.
