Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Orzhov Lifegain and Card-Advantage engine helmed by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. The primary game plan revolves around deploying inexpensive soul-sister enablers and efficient mana acceleration to stick Niv-Mizzet on Turn 5. Once active, any instance of lifegain converts directly into raw card velocity. Synergies with Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Psychosis Crawler turn this draw engine into an overwhelming offensive force, quickly draining the table while refilling the hand. Heavy mana engines like Cabal Coffers and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth provide the fuel to cast game-ending spells like Torment of Hailfire, while Approach of the Second Sun offers an alternate win condition that Niv-Mizzet can immediately draw back. Supported by premium Orzhov removal and defensive options such as Teferi's Protection, the deck controls the midgame before smoothly converting life totals into victory.
