Deck overview

This Mardu deck is an aggressive threat-cheating and stax strategy helmed by Kaalia of the Vast. The core plan focuses on casting Kaalia on Turn 3 or 4 with haste via Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots, or Fervor, immediately attacking to drop high-impact Angels, Demons, and Dragons onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Prime payloads include Master of Cruelties for immediate single-target elimination, Avacyn, Angel of Hope paired with Armageddon for total land lockouts, and extra-combat engines like Aurelia, the Warleader and Bloodthirster. A deep tutor suite ensures consistent access to decisive finishers and protection. As an alternate win condition, the deck features the two-card infinite drain combo of Exquisite Blood with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, or Bloodthirsty Conqueror. While vulnerable to targeted removal on Kaalia before attacks, the deck delivers rapid, must-answer pressure.
