Deck overview

This deck executes a focused Gruul Voltron game plan helmed by Wolverine, Best There Is. By doubling all damage he deals, Wolverine effectively reduces the commander damage threshold from 21 to 11 printed combat power. Supported by early mana acceleration from Sol Ring, Mana Vault, and Nature's Lore, the deck deploys Wolverine on Turn 2 or 3 and follows with stat boosts, umbra armor, and evasion. Fight cards double as targeted removal, triggering Wolverine's end-step counter growth while clearing blockers. Once enhanced with trample or protection, Wolverine eliminates players sequentially across consecutive combat steps. While vulnerable to instant-speed exile and lacking stax, the deck exerts rapid single-target pressure.
