Deck overview

This Gruul deck focuses on Wolverine, Best There Is, turning his static damage-doubling ability into lethal commander damage and one-sided board control. By pairing Wolverine with low-cost fight and bite spells, the deck removes opposing blockers while triggering Wolverine's end-step +1/+1 counter growth. Counter multipliers like Branching Evolution, The Earth Crystal, and Loading Zone rapidly escalate Wolverine's power. Once Wolverine reaches 6 to 11 power, trample enablers like Power Fist and double-strike sources like Raphael, the Nightwatcher enable one-shot eliminations. Mass damage spells like Chandra's Ignition and Nibelheim Aflame act as asymmetric sweepers that wipe opposing boards while burning each opponent out. Fast ramp pieces ensure a turn-2 or turn-3 commander deployment, and backup beaters like Hulk, Strongest There Is ensure the deck maintains heavy pressure even if Wolverine faces targeted removal.
