Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger burn and control list commanded by Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph. The strategy leverages Ghyrson's static ability to turn every instance of 1 damage from pingers, sweepers, and lands into 3 damage. Dense redundancy in 1-damage creatures like Firebrand Archer, Electrostatic Field, and Kessig Flamebreather allows the deck to consistently establish an aggressive burn engine by Turn 4. The deck controls opposing creature boards using cheap spells like End the Festivities and Tectonic Hazard, which become one-sided 3-damage board wipes. It also incorporates Manabarbs to heavily punish mana usage and deathtouch equipment to turn single pingers into repeatable creature removal engines. For an alternate win condition, the deck features Niv-Mizzet, Parun paired with Curiosity effects to draw the library and burn the table in a single turn. Defending the board is straightforward thanks to free countermagic like Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat.
