Deck overview

Massimo, the Magician pilots a tempo-oriented Jeskai spellslinger deck that converts combat connections into free spell casts. By filling the graveyard with high-utility 1-CMC instants and sorceries through early cantrips and looting, Massimo imprints these spells onto evasive and unblockable creatures as they enter the battlefield. When these creatures deal combat damage to players, they cast copies of the exiled cards for free without paying mana. This trigger feeds cascading synergies: Pia Nalaar creates hasty flying Thopters whenever spells are cast from exile, which enter to receive new imprints from Massimo. Meanwhile, burn engines like Fiery Inscription and Guttersnipe turn every combat trigger into global table damage, and cards like Boltwave burn all three opponents simultaneously. The deck combines efficient spot removal, repeatable protection counters, and extra combat phases to snowball card flow and close out the table by Turn 6.
