Smaug the Magnificent (duplicated from TheSpikeFeeders) by user4004797

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This mono-red deck uses Smaug the Magnificent as a hasty Treasure engine and direct damage source, then wins by chaining extra combats for lethal combat damage. Smaug creates a Treasure each upkeep and deals damage equal to your Treasures when he attacks, which scales quickly with doublers like Xorn, Goldspan Dragon, and Academy Manufactor. Secondary paths use the same Treasure base to power large Dragons such as Ancient Copper Dragon, Cavern-Hoard Dragon, and Balefire Dragon, and payoffs like Ingenious Artillerist and Reckless Fireweaver that punish artifact creation. Extra-combat cards including Karlach, Scourge of the Throne, Relentless Assault, and Seize the Day turn a modest board into a table kill, with Twinflame Tyrant doubling all damage.
