Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated Grixis Spellslinger shell helmed by Anhelo, the Painter, designed to duplicate high-impact instants and sorceries through the Casualty 2 mechanic. The core game plan establishes early mana acceleration and cost reduction via artifacts and low-curve utility creatures before deploying Anhelo on Turn 3. By sacrificing disposable 2-power creatures or token generators like Baral and Kari Zev, the deck doubles potent card-filtering spells such as Drawn from Dreams and Brainsurge, rapidly churning through the library. In the mid-to-late game, the deck leverages massive mana bursts from Mana Geyser, Jeska's Will, and Brass's Bounty alongside magecraft engines like Storm-Kiln Artist. This explosive mana fuels copied lethal finishers such as Crackle with Power and Exsanguinate, or resolves an instant-speed infinite token loop using Dualcaster Mage and Three Steps Ahead. A robust suite of counterspells and flexible removal ensures protection and table control throughout setup.
