Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black lifegain and combat engine commanded by Gwenom, Remorseless. The primary game plan focuses on deploying Gwenom on Turn 4 or 5, equipping haste or protection artifacts, and attacking to convert top-deck cards into free spells paid for with life. The deck offsets life loss through Gwenom's native lifelink and an array of lifegain triggers. Drain enablers like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, Marauding Blight-Priest, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel convert every point of life gained into direct damage across all three opponents. Top-deck filtering cards such as Doom Whisperer and Viscera Seer clear land pockets to keep casting chains active. While vulnerable to creature removal and lacking direct search tutors, the deck maintains a steady, resilient clock that closes out games around Turn 8 through overwhelming life swings and asymmetric drain.
