Deck overview

This deck wins by building a flying Bird board, strengthening it with tribal anthems, and using Derevi, Empyrial Tactician to tap blockers or untap lands whenever creatures connect. Cheap Birds such as Battlefield Raptor, Cloudfin Raptor, Healer's Hawk, and Silver Raven establish the board, while Empyrean Eagle, Favorable Winds, and Flowering of the White Tree increase damage. Propaganda helps defend against creature attacks, and the deck has a modest package of removal, sweepers, counters, and protection. Ordinary execution is slowed by many lands entering tapped and by limited tutoring. A meaningful engine board normally appears around turn 7, with a must-answer combat threat around turn 8. The deck can snowball through combat, but it does not reliably assemble a complete table kill or a total lock. Strixhaven Stadium and Preposterous Proportions are strong ceiling cards, not dependable primary finishes.
