Deck overview

This deck executes a focused Golgari strategy centered on Ygra, Eater of All, blending Food synergies, Aristocrats life drain, and Voltron combat finishes. Ygra turns all other creatures on the battlefield into Food artifacts, enabling unique interactions across the 99. Board sweepers like Fade from History function as asymmetric one-sided wipes that clear enemy creatures and artifacts while growing Ygra to lethal power. The deck generates steady token velocity through cards like Peregrin Took, Camellia, the Seedmiser, and Chatterfang, Squirrel General, converting sacrificed permanents into card draw and life loss with Blood Artist, Marionette Apprentice, and Mirkwood Bats. Dense defensive equipment ensures Ygra remains resilient against targeted removal, while flexible Golgari removal spells manage opposing threats efficiently.
