Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Mardu Equipment and combat-focused strategy commanded by Squall, Gunblade Duelist. Squall turns combat into direct burn by dealing damage equal to his power whenever any player attacks with creatures matching a chosen power or toughness. The list supports this with a rich suite of weapons like Buster Sword and Genji Glove, cost reducers, and goad effects that force opponents into attacking each other to continuously trigger Squall. Secondary beaters like Cloud, Planet's Champion and Beatrix, Loyal General provide redundant combat power, while a deep suite of white, black, and red spot removal keeps opposing engines in check. The deck curves smoothly from early ramp into midgame pressure, leveraging double strike and extra combats to close out games across multiple combat rotations.
