Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered mono-black combo and reanimator strategy piloted by K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. K'rrik fundamentally breaks resource pacing by allowing you to pay 2 life instead of {B} for any black mana symbol in casting costs and activated abilities. The primary strategy rapidly accelerates into K'rrik on Turn 3 or 4 using dark rituals and mana rocks, immediately deploying reanimation spells (Reanimate, Animate Dead) or tutors (Entomb, Vile Entomber). Once heavy hitters like Vilis, Broker of Blood, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, or Asmodeus the Archfiend enter the battlefield, life payments translate directly into massive card draw and library manipulation. The deck reliably closes the game on the same turn via infinite life-drain loops (Exquisite Blood with Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose), graveyard activated ability synergies with Necrotic Ooze, or devastating devotion drains with Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Saw in Half.
