Deck overview

This Dimir Zombie Aristocrats deck is helmed by Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver, focusing on relentless creature recursion, token generation, and table-wide life drain. The deck develops by establishing early Zombie fodder such as Lazotep Reaver and Dreadhorde Invasion, then deploying Wilhelt to convert dying nontoken Zombies into decayed tokens while drawing extra cards each end step. It translates this board presence into pressure using tribal lords like Death Baron and Diregraf Captain, or explosive payoffs like Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Rooftop Storm. Sacrificing creatures to outlets like Carrion Feeder triggers aristocrat drain from Blood Artist and Vengeful Dead, turning creature trades into steady damage. Asymmetric removal from Noxious Ghoul and repeatable edicts keeps opposing creature boards clear. While vulnerable to graveyard exile and exile-based board wipes, the deck displays strong resilience through recursive threats like Gravecrawler and mass reanimation via Zombie Apocalypse.
