Rats Building Snail Bombs by user6482740

Format: Commander

Commander: Wick, the Whorled Mind

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Grixis Rat-tribal deck built around Wick, the Whorled Mind's Snail engine. The core loop is simple: flood the board with Rat tokens, each Rat entering either creates a Snail or pumps the existing Snail with +1/+1 counters, then sacrifice that Snail to Wick's activated ability to deal damage to every opponent and draw cards equal to its power. The deck is packed with Rat-token generators - Marrow-Gnawer, Plague of Vermin, Song of Totentanz, Ogre Slumlord, Lord Skitter, Sewer King - and converts the massive draw into damage with Psychosis Crawler and Impact Tremors. A secondary combat plan uses Marrow-Gnawer's fear, Ogre Chitterlord's pump, Karumonix, the Rat King's toxic, and Vren, the Relentless's giant tokens. This is a midrange grinder that wins by chaining big Snail activations, with Roaming Throne and Panharmonicon doubling the triggers.
