Deck overview

This deck utilizes Grand Arbiter Augustin IV to establish an asymmetric tax environment, slowing opponents down while accelerating its own high-cost spells. The primary win condition is Approach of the Second Sun, which the deck casts ahead of curve due to its commander's cost-reduction ability. A secondary suite of taxing permanents including Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Aura of Silence, and God-Pharaoh's Statue hinders fast combo strategies and wide boards. When the primary line is contested, the deck leans on massive colorless Eldrazi threats such as Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre to close games through combat and annihilator triggers. The list also includes a small package of Slivers that provide minor utility and board presence, though the core path to victory remains rooted in classic Azorius control and taxation.
