Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal midrange strategy commanded by The Ur-Sphinx. From the command zone, the commander's Eminence ability reduces the casting cost of all other Sphinx spells by one generic mana, accelerating expensive flying threats onto the battlefield ahead of schedule. The game plan focuses on deploying cost reducers like Urza's Incubator and Herald's Horn on early turns, transitioning into powerful card-advantage engines such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign and Consecrated Sphinx around Turn 4. By Turn 6, the deck establishes critical onset with an overwhelming aerial fleet, utilizing game-altering payoffs like Magister Sphinx, Medomai the Ageless, and asymmetric board wipes like Raise the Palisade to dismantle opposing defenses. A robust suite of low-cost counterspells and premium exile removal protects the board and disrupts opposing win attempts.
