Deck overview

This Boros deck is commanded by Tamiyo, Upriser Crowned, an aggressive 6-mana Moonfolk Warrior featuring flying, double strike, and haste. The strategy revolves around ramping into Tamiyo by Turn 5, seizing the monarch for steady card flow, and using Tamiyo's defensive trigger—stunning creatures that deal combat damage to you—to maintain monarch control. The deck amplifies Tamiyo's inherent 6-damage double strike through damage doublers like Twinflame Tyrant and Fiery Emancipation, alongside extra-combat enablers like Karlach, Fury of Avernus and Aurelia, the Warleader. A suite of pillowfort enchantments such as Ghostly Prison and Authority of the Consuls forces opponents into awkward attack decisions while you execute sequential eliminations via lethal commander damage. While the deck boasts robust redundant combat payoffs, the lack of nonland tutors means it relies on monarch card advantage and natural draws to find protection and interaction.
