Deck overview

This Abzan deck is a Food-centric lifegain midrange archetype commanded by Sam, Loyal Attendant and Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit. The strategy focuses on pairing the commanders to build an automated engine of Food creation, discounted lifegain, and steady card advantage driven by the Ring tempts you mechanic. Early turns establish mana fixing before deploying Frodo on Turn 2 and Sam on Turn 3. By Turn 4, the primary engine is fully operational: paying one mana to crack a Food satisfies Frodo's lifegain requirement, triggering the Ring tempt and setting up recurring card draw once the Ring reaches level two. The deck scales its board presence by combining Food artifacts with token creators, eventually launching a critical onset around Turn 7 via overrun effects such as Pippin, Warden of Isengard or large token swarms from Farmer Cotton. Without infinite combos or fast-mana acceleration, the deck grinds down three opponents through combat damage across three response cycles to finish on Turn 10.
