Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai spellslinger strategy led by Gandalf, Party Guest. The deck uses a dense core of low-cost legendary Wizards to scale Gandalf's combat ability quickly. At the start of each combat step, Gandalf casts high-impact instants and sorceries from hand for free based on the number of legendary Wizards you control. Early turns focus on deploying mana rocks and synergistic creatures like Ral, Monsoon Mage, Veyran, Voice of Duality, and Balmor, Battlemage Captain. Once Gandalf enters, the deck cheats the mana cost of powerful spells like Call Forth the Tempest, Beacon of Tomorrows, and Expropriate. Card advantage engines like Archmage Emeritus and Whirlwind of Thought keep your hand full of spells. The deck wins by chaining extra turns, storming off with Thousand-Year Storm and Storm-Kiln Artist, or overrunning the table with mass prowess pumps and direct burn from Vivi Ornitier.
