Smaug222 by cammax05

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Built around Smaug the Impenetrable, this deck treats the commander as a repeatable Treasure engine: because he is indestructible, red direct damage turns into Treasure tokens. The primary plan is to ramp to seven mana, cast Smaug, then use Cut Propulsion, Chain Lightning, Pyrohemia, or Fire Covenant to self-damage him into a huge artifact stockpile. Secondary wins are Torment of Hailfire, Mayhem Devil/Mirkwood Bats drain loops, and Hellkite Tyrant's artifact-count condition; Smaug the Magnificent is a hidden backup commander that converts the same Treasures into damage. The deck remains a dragon midrange beatdown plan if the combo pieces are not drawn.
