Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Jund aristocrats and reanimator combo engine led by Xira, the Golden Sting. Xira provides early card advantage and disposable Insect tokens by marking opposing creatures with egg counters and attacking with haste. The primary game plan revolves around -1/-1 counter synergies, leveraging powerhouse engines like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Nest of Scarabs, and Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons. Once assembled, Yawgmoth converts life and tokens into massive card draw while clearing the board of opposing creatures, quickly digging into deterministic win conditions like Obelisk Spider or Goblin Bombardment to drain the entire table on Turn 5. Dense graveyard tutoring via Entomb and Buried Alive provides alternative reanimation loops using Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Flayer of the Hatebound. Supported by zero-mana protection spells like Deflecting Swat and efficient removal like Deadly Rollick, the deck smoothly pivots between attrition, board control, and sudden combo finishes.
