God of Fright by BuFu

Format: Commander

Commander: Tergrid, God of Fright // Tergrid's Lantern

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-black discard-and-sacrifice attrition deck built around Tergrid, God of Fright. The aim is to make opponents sacrifice permanents and discard cards constantly, then use Tergrid to steal the non-token permanents that leave their hands and boards. The deck pairs redundancy in discard outlets - Burglar Rat, Necrogen Mists, Smallpox, Mindslicer - with sacrifice engines like Braids, Cabal Minion, Grave Pact, and Dictate of Erebos. Payoffs include Waste Not, Megrim, Liliana's Caress, and Tinybones, Trinket Thief, whose activated ability closes out hellbent opponents. The back side, Tergrid's Lantern, is a viable fallback cast when Tergrid herself is too expensive or removal-heavy, forcing the same sacrifice/discard choice repeatedly. There are no infinite combos; wins are incremental, built on denying opponents resources while accumulating stolen permanents and drain damage.
