Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is built around Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls, combining oppressive group-slug attrition with high-velocity card advantage. The strategy establishes early passive damage sources like Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, and Kederekt Parasite that trigger during each opponent's turn. Once Valgavoth enters the battlefield, every instance of life loss on an opponent's turn yields a +1/+1 counter and draws a card, generating up to three additional cards per turn rotation. This steady influx of resources rapidly grows Valgavoth into a lethal airborne threat while digging through the library for game-ending pieces. The primary win condition centers on the two-card infinite combo of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond, supported by tutors like Demonic Tutor and Diabolic Tutor. Alternatively, the deck can close games through amplified damage with Bloodletter of Aclazotz, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or massive combat swings, backed by efficient targeted removal and redirection spells to protect its engine.
