Deck overview

This mono-black deck blends a dedicated Liliana planeswalker theme with Zombie aristocrats and discard attrition. Commanded by Liliana, Heretical Healer, the deck focuses on transforming its commander early by sacrificing expendable creatures to unlock Liliana, Defiant Necromancer. Once transformed, Liliana fuels continuous discard, graveyard recursion, and token generation. The midgame leans heavily on oppressive resource denial through Tergrid, God of Fright, Grave Pact, and a dense suite of Liliana planeswalkers that strip opposing hands and creatures. Meanwhile, engines like Waste Not and Undead Augur convert opposing losses into card draw, mana, and Zombie armies. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through repeated Gray Merchant of Asphodel devotion drains and swarms of buffed Zombie tokens. While it lacks stack interaction and artifact removal, its relentless attrition and deep recursion make it a resilient battlefield engine.
