Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated Mardu combat-aggro strategy commanded by Isshin, Two Heavens as One. It focuses on weaponizing combat triggers by doubling token generation, stat buffs, and opponent life drain whenever creatures attack. The deck establishes its core engine around Turn 4 by pairing Isshin with prolific attack-trigger producers like Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, Hanweir Garrison, and Hero of Bladehold. By Turn 5, doubled attack triggers create massive attacking boards that demand immediate board sweepers. The deck closes games on Turn 6 via wide alpha strikes empowered by Akroma's Will, Adriana, Captain of the Guard, Brutal Hordechief, or infinite combat loops via Aurelia, the Warleader and Helm of the Host. While resilient against single-target removal thanks to high threat redundancy and equipment protection, the deck relies heavily on natural draws due to an absence of tutors and card velocity engines.
