Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Orzhov combo list engineered around fast mana acceleration, comprehensive tutoring, proactive stax, and a compact win condition. Its primary win line leverages the two-card infinite combo of Professor Onyx and Chain of Smog, repeatedly copying Chain of Smog while targeting itself to trigger Magecraft for lethal life drain across all opponents in a single turn. The deck's resource engine is powered by premier fast mana artifacts and rituals like Dark Ritual and Mana Vault, alongside explosive draw engines such as Ad Nauseam, Necropotence, and The One Ring. To safeguard its execution, the deck deploys format-defining white protection spells including Silence, Grand Abolisher, and Ranger-Captain of Eos. Concurrently, asymmetric hatebears such as Drannith Magistrate, Dauthi Voidwalker, and Orcish Bowmasters suppress opposing commanders and speed, ensuring reliable execution on Turn 3.
