Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Boros aggro build engineered around the modified mechanic—combining equipment, +1/+1 counters, and token generation. Commanded by Sephiroth, Fallen Hero, the strategy aims to deploy self-modifying permanents such as 'For Mirrodin!' and 'Job select' equipment on early turns. Once Sephiroth hits the battlefield and attacks on Turn 5, his Jenova Cells ability transforms every modified creature into a 7/5 juggernaut, creating explosive combat steps. The deck backs up this aggressive clock with extra combat triggers from Akki Battle Squad and Hexplate Wallbreaker, while Abzan Falconer provides evasion. Built-in recursion on the commander allows Sephiroth to return directly from the graveyard by sacrificing a modified creature, offering solid resilience against spot removal. While the deck boasts efficient spot removal and targeted protection spells, its primary vulnerability lies in its reliance on combat damage and exposure to mass exile sweepers.
