Deck overview

The deck is a Golgari creature-based midrange deck built around Lathril, Blade of the Elves. Its main route is to develop mana, cast Lathril, Blade of the Elves, connect once in combat, and build to ten untapped Elves. Once ten Elves are available, Lathril, Blade of the Elves can tap them to make each opponent lose 10 life. Repeating that activation on three consecutive turns provides the clearest supported finish, around turn 9 after a turn-7 onset. The deck also has a secondary go-wide combat plan using Coat of Arms, Unnatural Growth, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Springleaf Parade, and +1/+1-counter effects. Ramp is solid but mostly fair, and card access is only partial. Removal is useful against creatures and permanents, but the deck lacks counterspells and proactive denial. Heroic Intervention and Inspiring Call offer meaningful but limited protection. Exceptional draws involving Sol Ring or Dark Ritual can be faster, but they are not the ordinary operating curve.
