The Devil Strahd (Strefan, Maurer Progenitor) by punkermarth

Format: Commander

Commander: The Devil Strahd

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Vampire-tribal deck built around Strefan, Maurer Progenitor and the Blood-token economy. The goal is to make opponents lose life every turn so Strefan's end-step trigger refills the board with Blood, then convert that Blood into free, hasty, indestructible Vampire attackers during combat. The creature base is a dense, redundant swarm of Vampires with combat-damage payoffs, table-wide drain, removal, and recursion. Primary wins come from evasive combat damage, often snowballing through Necropolis Regent or Bloodletter of Aclazotz-doubled life loss. Burst endings include Glass-Cast Heart and a prepared Exsanguinate copy from Stensian Sanguinist. There are no infinite combos; this is a fair midrange deck that uses its commander to cheat the mana curve and its Blood engine to keep the hand and graveyard fed.
