Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Spellslinger Combo-Control deck piloted by Niv-Mizzet, Parun. Its game plan focuses on controlling the early and mid-game using efficient counterspells, spot removal, and cheap cantrips while ramping into colored mana. On Turn 6, the deck deploys Niv-Mizzet and attaches an aura such as Curiosity or Ophidian Eye. Because Niv-Mizzet deals one damage whenever you draw a card and Curiosity draws a card whenever the enchanted creature deals damage to an opponent, drawing a single card initiates a self-sustaining loop that draws the deck and pings all opponents to zero life. Redundant outlets like Psychosis Crawler, Torbran, Thane of Red Fell, and Laboratory Maniac ensure an instant win even against inflated life totals. Powerful protection spells like Deflecting Swat ensure the combo finishes cleanly without passing the turn.
