Deck overview

This Gruul deck is led by Chishiro, the Shattered Blade, focusing on aggressive creature combat powered by the modified mechanic. It combines low-cost Auras, Equipment, and +1/+1 counter engines to create an evasive army of 2/2 red Spirit tokens with menace that grow larger at each end step. Supported by reliable 1-2 CMC ramp spells and mana dorks like Kami of Whispered Hopes and Incubation Druid, the deck establishes its commander on Turn 3 or 4. It rapidly converts board presence into lethal combat pressure on Turn 5 through overrun effects like Overwhelming Stampede, Beastmaster Ascension, and Pathbreaker Ibex, or finishes games instantly using a Godo, Bandit Warlord and Helm of the Host infinite combat combination. A strong suite of protective instants, including Heroic Intervention and Deflecting Swat, shields critical creatures from opposing removal while the team punches through blockers with natural menace and trample.
