Deck overview

This deck is a Sultai {X}-spell and Hydra tribal midrange engine commanded by Zaxara, the Exemplary. The core game plan focuses on rapid early-game mana acceleration using low-cost mana dorks and land ramp to deploy Zaxara on Turn 3. Once assembled on Turn 4, Zaxara accelerates mana by adding two mana of any color while triggering free, scaling Hydra creature tokens whenever {X} spells are cast. By Turn 5, the deck leverages counter multipliers like Doubling Season, Branching Evolution, and Unbound Flourishing to cast massive {X} spells such as Awaken the Woods, Hydroid Krasis, and Primordial Hydra. These create an overwhelming board presence that closes the game via unblockable or trampling combat damage on Turn 7, or through direct life drain with Exsanguinate. The deck also includes an infinite mana combo using Freed from the Real and Pemmin's Aura on Zaxara, though the lack of tutors means it primarily functions as an explosive combat-focused ramp strategy.
